Geek Pastor 2-3: The Geoff Show!
The Star Wars Party Edition! I'm joined in the "studio" today by my friend Geoff, who IS Darth Maul! Well at least he dressed up like him for his BIG Star Wars Extravaganza! We talk about the Party, about the possibility of joining the 501st, and more!

Hey Wayne. Good show this time around. Looking forward to more of them real soon. :-)
Just thought I would comment on the release date for Vista. From what I've seen online, the official date for OEMs and businesses is November 30th. The official launch for everyone else will be January 30th of 2007.

So far from my tests with RC1, it's really improved. However, for me once the eye candy effects wore out there was nothing really that compelling over XP. My concerns lie with Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA). While those who buy computers with Vista installed won't have to worry too much about this, those upgrading might be hit even worse by the dreaded WGA.
You also mentioned that you would probably be going with a Mac. As a Mac user for years now, I can tell you that OS X Tiger is definitely a robust operating system and the upcoming Leopard will improve upon that even more. This isn't to say that it's not without its faults, but then what system is perfect? I surely wish that Apple would stop making claims about Mac OS X being impervious to viruses and spyware. While I'm not that much of a fan of Windows, Apple needs to break out of the Reality Distortion Field for a bit. Mac OS X can be a target, but it's a much harder target than Windows thanks to it's Unix heritage.
And speaking of Unix....or rather Linux, you could always try out a Linux distribution on your PC like Ubuntu (http://www.ubuntu.com) which is VERY popular now. I'm actually running it on my work laptop and use it for office productivity, Internet, music, audio/video, and everything else. It even detected all of my hardware. And you can't beat the price either (Free!). I've been living Microsoft-free for 5 years now. The Ubuntu guys have a Live CD you can download to test out without wiping out what's on your computer currently. I figure the Geek Pastor would probably do well with a Geeky OS. ;-)
BTW, I like the dynamic with the guests. I hope you have some more people on...makes for a more interesting show.
Blessings to you!
