The Flash back cover revealed

Hey for those of you that care about the 90's Flash series coming to DVD, here's a copy of what the back cover will look like. Although i'm excited about this series finally being released. It look like there won't be very many special features or anything.

Kid Flash on Teen Titans! (from ComicsContinuum.com)

Michael Rosenbaum is providing the voice of Kid Flash in an upcoming episode of Cartoon Network's Teen Titans animated series.

Warner Bros. Animation has provided The Continuum with a first look at the character, who will appear in the "Lightspeed" episode.

Here's how the episode is described:
"With Titans dispatched across the globe, members of the Hive Five figure they have it made. Unfortunately their city-wide crime spree is cut short when a new hero in town spoils the fun. Handing him over to the Brotherhood of Evil may score the Hive Five points, but actually catching this lightning-fast do-gooder is much harder than it seems."

The episode has yet to be scheduled by Cartoon Network, but could air as early as November.
Rosenbaum, who plays Lex Luthor in The WB's Smallville, also has provided the voice of The Flash in Justice League and Justice League Unlimited.

WILMA!

OK, so here we go... this is what... the last named storm of the season before we go to the Greek alphabet. All I've got to say is, MAN! Enough is enough. I don't have shutters, all I have is plywood, and instead of putting it up and taking it down everytime, what do I do? I wait... I wait for Doppler Dean and Vipir Rob to tell me whether or not this one is the big one!

This is just a bit stressful, because in reality your home could only take so much wind and rain, and I'm afreaid that I might hit my limit soon. Obviously our stuff in South Florida this year hasn't been near as bad as the Gulf Coast, and honestly my concern is for them too! Needless to say I'll be glad when this Hurricane Season is over... but hopefully we won't be on Hurricane Zeta when it is...

New iPods for the Holiday season?

According to an article on ilounge.com, during Apple's fourth quarter conference call with analysts and press today, they announced that there would be a complete revamp of the iPod line-up. The article by Larry Angell says that:

"While discussing the iPod family and the new iPod nano, which just replaced the iPod mini, Tim Cook, Apple’s executive vice president of worldwide sales and operations, said that his company had some “very innovative new products that we have yet to introduce” for the holiday season. Cook noted that Apple began working on “revolutionary” new versions of its iPods more than a year ago, and that last quarter was the final quarter for the older models."

Seriously, this has the potential to tick me off! It just seems that everytime I get an iPod, the folks at Apple chose to revamp! It happened when I got the 3rd G, and it's happening now that I have the 4th G!!

I'm happy for Apple though, what other company has the guts to discontinue thei highest selling product (The mini) in favor of something all together different (nano).

Best of luck to Apple and let's wait and see what happens next!

The Flash on DVD, January 10th 2006

I just read on SuperHeroHype.com about the Scarlet Speedster... That's right, DC Comics own The Flash is making it to DVD in 2006. I'm really excited about this! You see, there's a ton of great shows out there that need to be on DVD. And I'm not saying that The Flash was a TV masterpiece, but DVD is just the place for obscure shows (even canceled ones) to either find a new audience or help others relive the good old days.

Well needless to say I'll be first in line to grab a copy of this DVD set!

Best thing about The Flash series: Mark Hamil (Luke Skywalker) as The Trickster!

Geek Pastor Devo #2 - Relationship with God

1 Corinthians 1:9
"God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful."

Did you know that God wants us to fellowship with Him on a daily basis? And that does not mean just a relationship. I have relationships with people who are acquaintances. But God wants more than that. If you really care about someone; you cannot wait to talk to them. A lot of people think that they are having fellowship with God, but in reality they are really having a lot of emergency meetings - you know waiting for a crisis to happen then run to God for help. How would you feel if every time you saw a particular person all they did was come to you when they had a crisis in their life, they never called you just to say hello and spend time with you. It would probably get a little old. (Now I'm not saying that God doesn't want to hear about our problems - He does!) But, He wants and desires more than that. The more time you spend with God sharing with Him the more you realize how reliable His Word is. You will also develop joy, faith and start developing God's own characteristics This really scares the devil, because he knows the more time you spend with God you will begin to act like Him, you will get stronger and God will become your leader and guide in everything it is no wonder that the devil wants to keep you from fellowshipping with God, he will do anything to keep you from spending quality time with your heavenly Father. Also remember, it is not enough to be out their doing Gods work and not give Him any personal time. It would be like if your parents went to work everyday and all they did was work to meet financial needs like buying groceries and clothes but they did not spend any time with you, there would be this void in your life. So if you're not already doing this start now make the decision that you will put God's Word first and final authority in your life.

Nicolas Cage... the geekiest of them all?!?!

Confirmed by a bunch of websites including, aintitcool.com, usatoday.com, bbc.uk.com, and supermanhomepage.com...

Nicolas Cage, yes the actor from movies like National Treasure, The Matchstick Men, Gone in Sixty Seconds... and the upcoming GhostRider comic book movie, has truly shown his geek-worthy-ness!

Nick Cage, who took his stage name from a comic book character named Luke Cage, and was once attached to the new superman movie, has named his brand new baby boy... Kal-el Coppola Cage.

Yup, Nicolas Cage named his baby boy after Superman. Kal-el is Superman/Clark Kent's birth name on the planet Krypton.

First off I can't beleive his wife would let him do that... and second, this guy HAS to be a die-hard fan! I mena I've trying naming PETS after superheroes and have gotten no where!

Congratualtions to the Cage Family, and welcome to the world Kal-el... Jesus loves you, and He'll love you even after you get beat-up in 2nd grade over your name...

GEEK PASTOR DEVO #1 - Acceptance

"Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God."
Romans 14:7

Accepting a friendly person who treats you with respect is easy but to accept the mean, unkind person is another story. Jesus said, "Love your enemies," (This is where people can get confused) Christ is not asking you to accept their sins and put your stamp of approval on them. He is asking you to accept them as a human being designed by our Heavenly Father. You don't know what's going on behind the door of their heart and what pain has been afflicted on them to cause them to react in a demeaning manner. Jesus talked with the woman at the well (who had more husbands than J-Lo, and was sleeping with another guy) and no one else would give her the time of day. She responded by trusting Jesus and immediately telling others about this forgiving, loving man. . Loving the unlovely is not easy but Jesus set the example when He loved us. What person do you need to accept ? Why not start by accepting people as Christ accepted you? See, Tina and I are planting a new church in West Palm. And this is one of the founding values of our church... ALL people matter to God. If Jesus could love and accept, a scrub like me. I should at least try to mimic the same attitude.

Prayer: God help me to accept others, just as you have accepted me. Let me see right through their troubles and sins. And see in them what you see in them. Amen.

Thanks, Wayne

RISING STARS - the comic that could have been...

This 24-issue series could have been an incredible piece of story telling. This amazing saga about 113 children united by one event they will never forget. They became known as the "Pederson Specials". A group of kids who received powers while in their mothers' wombs because of a strange flash of light that showed up in their town. The tale was fantastic and also tragic. I SO looked forward to reading this story. However... is became late... VERY LATE!

A comic series that was supposed to last 2 years became 3, then 4, then... I think 5! It took so long for the last several issues to come out, I forgot about the story. Now, the whole series is being released as a hardback graphic novel... THIS is the way it should have been... the story reads much better when you read it straight through... and not over the course of 5 years!

Rising Stars could have become a classic... hopefully now people will give it a chance and read it now that it's over. I give it a thumbs up. Even though I had to go through several disappointing visits to the comic shop only to find it's spot on the shelf empty. If you want a great piece of comic storytelling, check out the Rising Stars graphic novel.

Desperate Twins... the real mystery on Wisteria Lane!

Another confession here... my wife an I actually enjoy watching Desperate Housewives. The show is rediculous! But the strange mysteries and the twists and turns have become addicting. Honestly we watched it the first time to make fun of it and then... well we kept coming back for more.

But the true mystery lies in the second season... You see, it's not about who is locked up in the room in the basement, it's not about how Bree is going to cash in the insurance money... no... the real mystery is... WHERE ARE THE TWINS?

The Scavo Twins were a big part of the first season, the ADD Episode, the Episode about them and the old lady... they were everywhere. This year... 2 episodes in... and not one mention of them. They weren't ever in the background of the house playing or anything.

Nope, these guys have vanished without a trace! The coips aren't even checking them out, the schools haven't even called... Sure they're probably out filmed Cheaper by the Dozen 2, but will we ever find out the fate of these identical terrors? Who knows! I just needed to get this little thing of my chest!

Tune in next time,

Wayne

Bye bye MySpace... Hello Blogger

OK I'll admit it. When I started blogging on Myspace I thought it was cool, but after a while... There was just something about myspace that bugged me. Why did I start getting so excited about new friends being added to my account? And why was I reading bulletins that were merely forwards in disguise?!

Honestly I felt that there was some more out there... I looked at Yahoo 360 and honestly, I just looked like more work... And so... I went back to the old faithful. Aaahh Blogger...It's good to be home. I discovered that here on Blogger we will eventually debut the GeekPastor Podcast and this is where I will camp out and post my thoughts and reviews on spiritual life, pop culture, and all things geeky.

Expect movie, tv, video game, and comic reviews. As well as other thoughts and musings about this modern world. But I will also pledge to be encouraging and uplifting when it comes to bringing hope in the form of God's Word (the Bible). I want this to be a safe place for everyone to connect their true inner geek with their faith and realize that they truly CAN exist together.

Mucho love in Christ,

Wayne
